Imooty has been invited to attend the EASY Investment Forum in London taking place 26-27 of June. The EASY Investment Forum provides a dynamic framework for cross-border investing, enabling seed investors and investment ready internationally focused businesses to come together.
The event is an excellent opportunity for us to get some pitching experience and to meet and interact with potential investors.

Imooty is invited to present at another Mobile Moday event, this time in Munich!

Imooty is participating in a panel discussion at the European Communication Summit in Brussels. The European Communication Summit brings together top-class communication professionals from all over Europe.
Kristoffer will talk about how new media is changing news consumption. The discussion is lead by Philippe Borremans, managing director of Blackline, a social media consulting agency. The other participants are Pawel Lisicki from the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita and Hans de Keulenaer from the European copper institute.
The title of the discussion is “New Media: Method to the Madness” and is described as follows;
“Recent years have seen the new possibilities brought on by the evolution of the internet and its users fuse with practically all areas of life and business. The flow of information, whether it is generated by individuals or organisations, is constantly being fed, diverted, inflated, validated and/or discredited through the channels and conversations happening with in all forms of New and Social Media. These un-predictable new realities affect every communications professional who must now learn to navigate these waters or risk being washed overboard. With this panel, New Media’s ability to level the playing field when it comes to power of influence will be addressed as well as how the communications world can play along.”

The press conference and the launch of Imooty.mobi has generated a lot of publicity. We have been featured in major German, Italian, Spanish and UK media outlets. These include Süddeutsche Zeitung, La Repubblica, RAI international, Intomobile and an interview with Kristoffer in the Editors Weblog
Imooty has also been invited to present at a Mobile Monday event here in Berlin. Mobile Monday is a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influentials fostering cooperation and cross-border business development through virtual and live networking events to share ideas, best practices and trends from global markets.

During the press conference Kristoffer held a presentation of Imooty’s European media monitoring vision whereas Blaise did a demonstration of the different functions and possibilities on offer. Pretty funny watching ourselves afterwards, you could definitely see it was our first press conference
In the future we plan to offer premium press clipping services with publishers. Withholding a modest sales commission, Imooty will reimburse content providers for downloaded content.
The experience of arranging a press conference allowed us to go through the all the practical logistics; writing press releases, direct contact with journalists and finding interesting angles for the “event”. It’s a great opportunity to connect and communicate our vision and we expect to see more Imooty features in the next few weeks.
Also, the re-submission to Exist is finally done, if everything goes we’ll have funding from June on.

In partnership with Peugeot Avenue on Unter den Linden (automotive branding space) we have arranged to live-feed a press conference event and invite Imooty users and community to participate in a Q&A session.
The occasion is that Imooty is being presented as a project supported by “Projekt Zukunft” (Project Future), a creative industries network working under the auspices of the Business and Technology department of the Berlin Senate.
Meanwhile, we’re working hard at keeping up with the amounts of information to be processed. There are some technological glitches to sort out.
Work on the application for an Exist grant is also moving forward, deadline one month from now. This is a golden opportunity to get seed money without exchange of equity. We are confident that our most recent achievements, the invitation from EACD and our Project of the month status, will persuade the jury.

Imooty has been invited to talk about personalized news in a panel discussion at the European Communication Summit in Brussels next year. The conference is organized by the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) and Imooty has been invited to talk about how new media is changing news consumption.
The EACD is a network for communication professionals from all fields across Europe. The non-partisan association lobbies for common quality standards and the advance of professional qualification in the PR and Communication field. The aim is to formulate communicative norms for a pan-European communication culture. Our assumption is that the members may also find our European media monitoring tool interesting too.
Participation on the panel gives Imooty great exposure as a “new media” press clipping tool. The discussion will be moderated by Phillippe Borremans from Conversationblog.com. Other participants TBA.

Imooty has now been presented for major German and UK publishers. The immediate feeling is that they, for the time being, are not interested in commercially participating in our media monitoring services. The feedback is that they are interested in a European format, but concerned that it will “cannibalize” existing businesses models, i.e. professional press clipping and business intelligence services.
Another issue is our sudden appearance – like, where did these guys come from? I’ve hinted at some publisher stereo types previously and the recent encounters have in some ways confirmed them.
Still, considering the long tradition of this industry (the publishers we contacted are established old school media houses), it is understandable to apply a “wait and see” attitude. At a recent presentation we realized that an established publisher was unaware of what a news widget was! To laugh or cry, that is the question, and of course we laugh, all the way to the bank (hopefully). Still, the door is definitely not closed for developing a European media monitoring service and we will continue to discuss possible areas of collaboration at a later stage.
And another prestigious Journalism school has reviewed Imooty, The Poynter Insitute!

Through Profund we’re now also invited to attend so called “Business & Beer” events. These are informal networking sessions arranged in the context of a short lecture. After the talk there’s beer and socializing with fellow entrepreneurs / people interested in new ventures.
Last week during a “Business & Beer” meeting we held a short presentation of Imooty and had the pleasure of being introduced to Secretary of State from the Berlin Senate!
